Hemel Hempstead and it's father schools based in St. Albans & London Colney, are all authentic, licensed clubs of the International Tae Kwon Do Federation under the guidance of Mr. Chang Ung. Our clubs are proud that all our members only receive I.T.F. certification for exams taken under us. This move means that all students are Internationally registered Black Belts, unlike most other clubs.

Hemel Hempstead Martial Arts school of Tae Kwon Do promotes the Korean Martial Art called Tae Kwon Do, is an award winning club that has been in the area since 2005. Well established and formed, you can guarantee when joining us, you become a member of something with good substance and longevity. Opened and still running under Senior Instructors Stuart Smith 4th Degree, the Hemel Coach was a 2nd Degree Black Belt at the time still trains with his senior coach and teaches four days of the week, the clubs have reaped success. We are a 'not for profit' group, so all funds are used to maintain the clubs. We are fully self sufficient and take pride that we have never had any grants from local sports projects.
In 2005, Stuart (our senior coach) was a very successful tournament contender, gaining gold, silver and bronze medal placements at national level. 6 years later, the schools are still running and have produced over 100 national champions, including European and World medalists - we have also helped raise over £12,000 to worthy charities. Senior Instructor Stuart is now a registered 4th Degree under the International Tae Kwon Do Federation (I.T.F.) and the co'founder of the L.T.S.I., a U.K. group we are members of. His day job is accountancy. Stuart like his own coach, says running the school is a way to help his communities, whether young and oldh in one way or another.
Who are we?
We are Hemel Hempstead Tae Kwon Do School, along with our sister schools St.Albans & London Colnety, a group that prides itself in being a ‘not for profit’ group. Our classes are up to 30% cheaper on average than other local clubs to us, but our standards are still high - just look at our record, since 2004, we have produced nine world medallists, six European medallists and over 100 National Gold medallists in semi contact tournaments. 
We may be small compared to most in the U.K., but our high standards and forward thinking positive attitude is our approach to teaching the art is second to none. We have many families training with us who say the same - that the delivery of our classes are always family orientated and our methods of how we teach follow the strictest teaching guideline, where safety is our top priority. All Instructors and club assistants are fully insured, hold first aid certificates and are fully Criminal Record Bureau (C.R.B.) checked every two years.
